The Platinum II range has been enhanced with a design and installation-friendly in-ceiling speaker that offers unsurpassed performance and excellent audio accuracy. The PLIC II in-ceiling loudspeaker is designed for installation in both new and retrofit installations, and should be the product of home builders, architects, interior designers and end users.

The newest addition to the Platinum II series, the PLIC II Ceiling Speaker meets the needs of loudspeaker manufacturers, offering a compelling combination of high quality sound, easy installation and discreet design. The Monitor Audio PLIC II Ceiling Loudspeaker has an 8 "long throw woofer with Rigid Diaphgram Technology (RDT II)

Cone technology for extremely powerful bass lines. This is achieved by the RDT cone responding instantaneously to an audio signal to provide the listener with a consistent frequency spectrum when the speaker is played at higher frequencies are additional dual midrange drivers with C-CAM cone technology and monitor Audio's new micro-fold diaphragm sensor (MPD) mounted on a rigid aluminum baffle and directed toward the listening zone ensure uniform mid-frequency and high-frequency dispersion.

All PLIC II drives feature a high-performance motor system that uses a staggered motor assembly to ensure that the coil always stays in the gap, even during hard operation. The addition of copper shorting rings significantly improves magnetic linearity and reduces intermodulation distortion, resulting in clear and clear audio transmission. The PLIC II Ceiling Speaker has been designed for installation in both new and retrofit projectors and features the unique Tri-grip mounting system from Monitor Audio. This 3-position 'Dog Leg' fixation offers a larger contact surface than other types. This system, combined with the magnetic grid, saves the installer time and money by speeding up the speaker adaptation process.

To ensure a controlled audio performance, Monitor Audio has developed an MDF backbox with a pre-set air volume of 24L. The rigid box is available with pre-insulted internal damping material to ensure the best possible sound absorption and reduce standing waves.

To satisfy the interior designer and the end user, the circular grid may appear almost invisible by being painted to match the room decor. Monitor Audio also offers a square option to customize lighting fixtures and ventilation.
