These two achievements significantly improve the performance of Type 4, the most successful cable in our more than 30-year history. MASSIVE PERFECT-SURFACE-COPPER+-LEITER (PSC+): The GO-4 uses extremely high-purity Perfect-Surface-Copper+ conductors. All conductors are solid, which avoids the mutual interference of the strands - and thus a major cause of distortion. Because a conductor acts like a rail guide for both electric fields within the conductor and also for the magnetic fields outside the conductor, the surface quality is decisive. The amazingly smooth and pure PSC+ eliminates roughness and improves clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other coppers. The superior purity of PSC+ also minimizes grain boundary distortion that occurs in any metallic conductor. CARBON-BASED NOISE DISISSIPATION (ISOLATION): The two negative conductors in the GO-4 are insulated with partially conductive carbon-containing polyethylene. This remarkable material attenuates radio frequency interference so that it is not fed back into the amplifier. This brings the same reduction of fluctuations and better three-dimensionality as the reduction of HF waste in an audio circuit. In the GO-4, polyethylene foam insulation is used on the positive conductors because air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. Thanks to the air in the PE foam, there are considerably fewer blurring effects than with other materials. STAR-QUAD-GEOMETRIE: The ratio of the individual conductors to each other defines the basic electrical properties of a cable (capacitance and inductance). Even if these variables are kept in a meaningful balance, the relationship of the conductors to each other can vary so that the sound is strongly influenced. The Star Quad design of the GO-4 enables significantly better dynamics and information clarity than with parallel routing of the same conductors. SPREAD-SPECTRUM TECHNOLOGY (SST): Each individual conductor and each bundle of conductors has its own specific distortion profile. Even radial symmetric conductors (solid or tubular) show least irregularities, each conductor of a certain size leaves a sound footprint. SST is a method to significantly reduce these characteristic weaknesses by using a precisely determined combination of conductors of different sizes. The different conductor sizes used in the GO-4, determined using the SST, provide an exceptionally clear, pure and dynamic sound. DIELECTRIC-BIAS-SYSTEM (DBS, US Pat #s 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1): Any insulation slows down the signal on the conductor inside. If there is no voltage applied to the insulation, it slows down individual parts of the signal to varying degrees - a major problem with very time-critical wideband audio. AudioQuest DBS generates a strong, stable electrostatic field that saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the isolation. This reduces both the energy stored in the insulation and the various non-linear time delays to a minimum. The sound is created against a surprisingly black background with unexpected richness of detail and extended dynamics. The batteries of the DBS last for several years. A button with LED indicator allows occasional battery status testing. CONFIGURATION: AudioQuest offers a wide range of high-quality connectors to connect the GO-4 to any type of hi-fi equipment. The focus in terms of quality is more on the low-distortion sound than on the feast for the eyes. The gold and silver of these AQ connectors look "boring" matt because the metals are applied directly to the connector - there is no shiny looking but rough sounding nickel layer underneath. AQ-PK cable lugs are also relatively soft, because higher quality metals are soft, which is advantageous for the quality of the connection. For devices that require banana or BFA plugs, the AQ-PK-BFA/Banana plugs offer unprecedented high quality reproduction compared to conventional brass versions. USE: The metal breakouts on both ends of the GO-4 are marked "Speaker End" or "Amp End". Please use the cables in the appropriate direction.
