THE CHALLENGE: No matter how perfect an AC power source is, any AC cable will cause distortion. Even the most advanced filters and power supplies cannot eliminate this transient intermodulation (TIM) distortion because the induced RF noise modulates the audio/video signal at a low level.
THE SOLUTION: NRG-Z2 cables use directionally controlled Perfect-Surface Copper + (PSC +) strands in a semi-rigid concentric conductor arrangement in which the strands are packed more tightly and never change their position within the bundle. This design significantly reduces strand interaction distortion. The extremely pure PSC + conductors with smooth surface minimize the distortion caused by grain boundaries present in any metal conductor.
In addition, the directionally controlled silver-plated shielding conductors of the NRG-Z2 efficiently dissipate RF noise via the third ground pin from the cable and the neutral shields to ground. The net result is powerful, dynamic and impressive!

ZERO TECH: NO CHARACTERISTIC IMPEDANCE
While many AC cables have a low DC resistance to meet the need for high current, the characteristic impedance of a cable is also critical for optimum performance. Unlike most AC cables that constrict or compress an audio-induced transient, AudioQuest AC cables combine low DC resistance and zero (none) impedance to provide uncompressed transients when needed.
