The HE-R10P is the first "real" closed, magnetostatic headphone from HIFIMAN and at the same time a statement. This is because the dynamic headphone is based on a legendary model. And by the way, it is also capable of Bluetooth in no less than five formats.

HIFIMAN HE-R10P is a reinterpretation of the Sony MDR-R10 model, which is highly sought-after among audiophile collectors. This headphone appeared on the market in 1989 and cost a gigantic DM 7,500 by the standards of the time. HIFIMAN adopts its characteristic design, which was developed to combine a relatively large volume with minimal reverberation. The HE-R10P's ear cups are CNC-milled from solid cherry wood and finished with a satin cellulose lacquer that is impervious to fingerprints.

The HE-R10P plays differently than most headphone fans are used to from closed models. It's not a headphone that primarily celebrates pounding bass, but a decidedly natural-playing planar that's dedicated to hours of relaxed music enjoyment. The headphones unfold their full potential after about 200 hours of play-in time. Then you experience the right dry-punching bass foundation, a silky vocal infatuation as well as a finest, velvety high-frequency range. As usual with HIFIMAN, the ear pads are made of a mixture of materials that provides maximum comfort. Towards the ear, a polyester fiber is used, while the inner and outer parts are made of synthetic leather. Of course, the pads can be easily replaced when their condition calls for it. The height adjustment is slightly grated and the headband is made of genuine leather. The conductors of the three headphone cables are each routed in a silicone tube and protected with a strong nylon mesh.
