The PM-KI Ruby was developed on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the legendary Marantz sound master Ken Ishiwata and is characterized by a top performance for which Marantz is known. Thanks to sophisticated technology, careful tuning and extensive listening sessions, the PM-KI Ruby achieves the high performance that lives up to its name.

Balanced power amplification

The amplifier output stage of the PM-KI Ruby is based on the design of Marantz's flagship full amplifier PM-10 and delivers 100 watts per channel to 8-ohm speakers or 200 watts per channel to 4-ohm speakers. For superior quality, the audio signal path consists entirely of discrete components.

Pure analog design

The purely analog design of the PM-KI Ruby contributes to its noise-reducing structure and clean construction. Instead of integrating the DAC in the amplifier, which would amplify the noise in the chassis, Marantz implemented the DAC in the SA-KI Ruby. This keeps the analog environment as clean and clean as possible.

Marantz HDAM Technology

Marantz developed its own discrete amplifier modules, so-called Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAMs), which replace the usual chip-based amplifiers. HDAMs significantly outperform regular integrated operational amplifiers in terms of slew rate and noise levels, resulting in a much more dynamic, accurate and detailed sound. Marantz Musical Premium Phono EQ

The Marantz Musical Premium Phono EQ stage of the PM-KI amplifier delivers optimum sound quality by simplifying the signal path and can be used with both MC and MM pickups. To minimize distortion, the two-stage amplification combines Marantz HDAMs with JFETs (junction gate field effect transistors) in the input stage to provide a high input impedance.

The premium design

Like the SA-KI Ruby Super Audio CD player, the PM-KI Ruby integrated amplifier is designed to meet the highest demands. The high-quality, vibratition-resistant construction includes a double-walled, copper-plated chassis, a 5 mm thick aluminium top cover and a robust aluminium front as well as solid insulators.
