With its predecessor, the VPL-VW260, Sony undercut the €5000 mark, making the native 4K large screen affordable to a wider range of home cinema fans for the first time. Accordingly, the success of the native 4K entry level beamer was great. In
large parts, the VW270 remains unchanged, especially in terms of light and contrast performance. Gross, the model reaches the 1500 lumens specified by the manufacturer when the native color temperature (user 5) is activated. However, this leads to a visible cyan cast, which makes a neutral colour reproduction impossible. Colour calibration results in a loss of around 17% - 20%, leaving between 1200 and 1250 lumens in high lamp mode, while the optional Eco mode reduces lamp output by around 25% to 900 lumens, extending the possible service life.
