AudioQuest Water Stereo Cable (RCA)
Water - refreshing, calming and purifying water - covers more than 70% of the surface of our planet and is the only substance in nature that occurs naturally in all three common states of aggregation: solid, liquid and gaseous. We know water as the nuclei of comets in space; as steam in the soft clouds of our blue sky; as the crystals that form the many intricate patterns of snowflakes; as vast glaciers on the most enticing and challenging mountains of our planet; as radiant white icebergs floating freely in Arctic oceans; as freshwater rivers flowing through our land; as aquifers in the ground beneath our feet. At the molecular level, water can form a large number of hydrogen bonds, resulting in an unusually high surface tension and extreme capillary force, which in turn allows water to move upwards through narrow tubes against gravity - a life-giving property that all vascular plants rely on, including our largest trees: aspens, oaks and sequoias. Fascinatingly, the boiling point of water depends strongly on the air pressure of its surroundings: For example, water at the top of K2 boils at a different temperature than water from the Mackenzie River, while the deepest water in the ocean near geothermal pipelines can reach temperatures of hundreds of degrees and still remain liquid. According to Aristotle, among the classical elements, water had a special place between wind and earth. It was both cold as earth and wet as wind, but it was clearly at odds with fire. And people born under the astrological signs of cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces are said to have dominant water personalities: nurturing, sympathetic and resourceful. Today, of course, we appreciate water for all that it is, and know it best as the thing that quenches our thirst when all else fails.

Properties
SOLID COPPER CONDUCTORS (PSC +) WITH PERFECT SURFACE
Solid conductors prevent both electrical and magnetic strand-to-strand interaction, the main causes of distortion. The surface quality is crucial, since a conductor can be considered a rail guide both for the fields inside a conductor and for the magnetic fields that extend outside the conductor. The amazingly smooth and pure surface of all AudioQuests' Perfect Surface metals virtually eliminates hardness and significantly increases clarity compared to fewer materials. Extremely high purity copper with a perfect surface + minimizes distortion due to grain boundaries present in a metal conductor and virtually eliminates hardness and increases clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other copper.
POLYETHYLENE AIR HOSE INSULATION
Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of a faulty circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials absorb all energy. Part of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. However, AudioQuest uses polyethylene air pipe insulation for both conductors to stabilize the geometry and improve clarity. Since air absorbs almost no energy and polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign deformation profile, polyethylene air pipe insulation with its high air content causes much less of the blurring effect common with other materials.
TRIPLE BALANCED GEOMETRY (SEPARATE EARTH CONDUCTOR)
Our triple-balanced geometry uses a separate ground reference conductor, so the cable shield is never used as an inferior conductor. Regardless of whether the cable is equipped with RCA or XLR connectors, the cable's three conductors ensure that the positive and negative signals have equally superior and low-distortion traces.
6-LAYER CARBON-BASED NOISE DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS)
It is easy to achieve 100% shield coverage. To prevent detected radio frequency interference from modulating the device's earth reference, the AQ Noise Dissipation System (NDS) is required. Conventional shielding systems typically absorb and dissipate noise/ RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical "reference" ground plane, which in turn causes signal distortion. NDS' alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded plastic "shield" the shielding and absorb and reflect most of this noise/ RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to the floor.
DIELECTRIC BIAS SYSTEM WITH HIGH FREQUENCY TRAP
Any insulation between two or more conductors is also a dielectric whose properties affect the integrity of the signal. When the dielectric is undistorted, the inclusion of the dielectric (absorption and non-linear release of energy) causes a different time delay (phase shift) for different frequencies and energy levels, which is a real problem for very time-sensitive multi-octave audio. The use of an RF trap (developed for AudioQuest's Niagara series) ensures that no RF interference is induced into the signal conductors by the DBS field elements.
